Social Spaces

The designers at PHX Architecture in Phoenix and SB Design in Scottsdale updated the look of the resort, while staying true to the rich history and maximizing the aesthetic potential of the romantic, Spanish architecture. The resort’s main entrance tucked away in an upscale Scottsdale neighborhood serves as guests’ first introduction to the property’s overhaul. It was completely redesigned to feature new signage and lush, ranch-style landscaping.

As visitors and locals enter the renovated lobby boasting new furniture, décor and accessories, they will find a vibrant, fun gathering spot and the new Bar Six40. Adjacent to the lobby entrance, guests can now access Bennie’s Courtyard (named for the original architect) through multiple doors, bringing the outside in and creating more of a residential feel. The transformed courtyard is now a lively social space where guests can enjoy sips and bites from the new Kitchen West Restaurant, live entertainment, and gather around the large fireplace or new fire pits on cool desert nights.

Additionally, the main pool area was completely remodeled and now includes a full-service restaurant and bar called Twisted Vine. It features eight new cabanas available for private rental, a shaded trellis in the water and a gorgeous bridge-like water feature dividing the new pool, which is 2.5 times larger than the previous one. The pool area also has been modernized with water features.

Updated Guest Rooms

The Scottsdale features 326 spacious guest rooms and suites, each with the elegant décor and residential ambiance of private haciendas, many of which offer spectacular views of fairways, gardens and pools. The property’s 54 king rooms were completely renovated, 76 of the double-queen rooms were converted to king rooms, and all rooms in the McCormick building were renovated. All 266 updated guestrooms received new artwork and bedding, a headboard, carpeting, two chairs, a window table, new color schemes for a brighter look and feel, and desks. Twenty first-floor rooms now have private patios with access to the main pool. The guestroom corridor boasts fresh new paint, carpeting and historical Scottsdale artwork, all designed to brighten up the guest experience.

Enhanced Outdoor Meeting Space

The Scottsdale’s renovation significantly expanded and upgraded the outdoor event facilities, ideal for gatherings of all sizes. The property now features two event lawns and one sport court. The larger main lawn offers more than 10,000 square feet of event space and can accommodate up to 1,200 people for weddings, receptions, events, and team-building exercises with stunning views of the majestic McDowell Mountains in the backdrop. The new community lawn near the resort entrance boasts clear views of the iconic Camelback Mountain and will host a variety of public events open to resort guests and locals along with private events for groups and meetings. Groups of up to 600 people can to take advantage of the 330 days of annual sunshine in Scottsdale and clear, starry desert skies.

New Restaurant, Bar

Kitchen West Restaurant, the new premier dining establishment on-property, will make its debut within weeks of The Scottsdale’s reopening. The restaurant will offer an authentic experience that embraces the boldness of the Western spirit and adopts a welcoming communal vibe for guests and locals seeking bold flavors and a modern interpretation of American Western cooking. True to its name, Kitchen West is an expression of the modern American West, influenced by the boldness, tradition and sense of adventure that made the West what it is today. Guests can choose between single or family-style dishes, and the restaurant will serve both lunch and dinner. Executive Chef Rick Dupere has created a seasonal menu of unique American Western fare, and plans to source the freshest products possible from the Western United States.

In the middle of the lobby, The Scottsdale will debut a new lobby bar serving as an extension of the restaurant. Bar Six40 – named after the number of acres of land that Army Chaplain Winfield Scott purchased in 1888 that would become Scottsdale – will serve local coffee, freshly squeezed juices, and light breakfast options and snacks in the morning and afternoon. Guests will enjoy craft beers and wines on tap with live entertainment during the afternoon and evenings along with delectable bites from Kitchen West.
