ATLANTA – March 2018– In the capital city known as The Hollywood of the South, The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta will be readying for its fresh-faced close-up this year. A full guestroom reimagination is underway at the hotel with a high design inspired by a city whose star status has risen.

“Atlanta is our muse, and the hotel continues to evolve out of the unparalleled lifestyle around us,” said Erwin Schinnerl, General Manager. “The design is infused with a fervent sense of place, providing a modern backdrop for a vibrant new era of luxury travelers discovering our city.”

Fusing Atlanta’s iconic music culture with The Ritz-Carlton heritage, the design speaks to a broader creative community taking hold. The vision pays homage to the evolution of Atlanta, drawing upon elements in nature found within the metropolitan City of Trees.

The feel evokes custom high-rise living at this downtown retreat. In all guestrooms, expect new sleek bathrooms in calming hues along with inlayed lit mirrors. King guestroom bathrooms will be upgraded with a marble walk-in shower and floating vanity all set behind a rolling barn door. The living area gives way to in-room relaxation with versatile seating and high-tech amenities. The reimagined Club Lounge will feature expanded areas, providing ample spaces for a quick breakfast in a quiet nook or drinks with friends seated along a large communal table. In the coming months, the property will memorably infuse the spirit of the city’s rich outdoor elements into the 444 rooms, suites and Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge.

The reimagination is especially poignant as The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta is the longest operating hotel in the brand, and was the second property to open in the United States during a time when the city was boldly carving out its new identity. Fast forward 34 years later, and Atlanta’s “anything-is-possible” ethos rings true be it dynamic culinary scene that is continuously evolving, or the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The elevated guestrooms and suites come on the heels of the hotel’s Wellness Level that was unveiled in 2017, and the sleek AG, which debuted on the downtown scene in Fall 2016. After 17 years, the former Atlanta Grill underwent a complete transformation of the interiors and a redesign of the menu, offering a dining experience inspired by Southern hospitality. Additionally, over the past few years, the more than 17,000 square feet of meeting and event space has been refreshed to reflect the dynamic city in which the hotel resides. The hotel also features Lumen, a contemporary lobby bar offering signature cocktails and shareable plates, along with Jittery Joes, serving as Atlanta’s only location to grab a cup of the Athens, Georgia favorite coffee.

As the final phase of The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta’s transformation, the reimagination of the guestrooms and suites will elevate the overall guest experience, providing an urban retreat throughout. For more information, please call (404) 659-0400 or visit ritzcarlton.com/atlanta.
