Tampa, Fla. (May 4, 2015) – The Plasencia Group is pleased to announce the sale of the Marriott Baton Rouge, located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The firm represented the seller and owner of the 21-story, 299-room hotel. Dimension Development Company, a Louisiana-based hospitality management company, acquired the property.

“From the time the hotel opened in the early 70’s as a Hilton, it has been one of Baton Rogue’s premiere lodging establishments. While the hotel’s physical plant has deteriorated to some degree over time, I anticipate the new ownership team will extensively renovate and reposition the hotel to its former prominence,” commented Robert Wiemer, The Plasencia Group’s Senior Vice President who led the disposition team. The Marriott Baton Rouge is the twelfth hotel The Plasencia Group has sold in Louisiana over the last four years.

The Marriott’s location along Interstate 10 and substantial physical plant make it the most visible lodging establishment in the region. The hotel’s central location within Baton Rouge, its popular brand, and its extensive meeting and banquet capabilities create a lodging establishment that has been a regional leader in the Baton Rogue hospitality market for most of its history. The hotel also benefits from its proximity to large industrial complexes, Louisiana State University and the state’s capital.

This transaction marks the largest sale of any other hotel in Baton Rouge since 2007.
