An Expanding Portfolio Filled with Openings & New Developments

The Olympia Companies, one of the most fully integrated real estate companies in the hotel industry, is on track for growth in 2018. Known for its upscale luxury properties, such as Inn by the Sea in Maine and The Alfond Inn at Rollins in Winter Park, Florida, as well as its best-in-brand select service hotels, The Olympia Companies starts 2018 with an expanded portfolio of 22 properties and a number of exciting new projects on the drawing board. Among the highlights:

OPENING 2018

SOPHY Hyde Park, Chicago, IL

The Olympia Companies, in partnership with SMART Hotels, is developing and will manage SOPHY Hyde Park, a new 98-room luxury boutique hotel currently under construction in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood. Adjacent to the campus of the University of Chicago and close to the site of the future Barack Obama Presidential Library, SOPHY is a Preferred Lifestyle Hotel, designed as a four-diamond property and engineered to achieve LEED Silver certification. It is scheduled to open in summer 2018.

The Glen House, Green’s Grant, NH

Olympia Hotel Management was selected by the Mt. Washington Summit Road Company to operate The Glen House, near the base of the Mt. Washington Auto Road. The newest iteration of the classic New England hotel (four Glen Houses have been built in the scenic locale since 1852) will open in the summer of 2018.

Hyatt Place & Hyatt House Quad Cities, Moline, IL

Olympia Development was selected to oversee construction of a showcase hotel project in the Quad Cities region of northwest Illinois and southeastern Iowa that feature two distinctive hotels: a 134-room Hyatt Place hotel and 99-room Hyatt House hotel. Olympia Hotel Management has been selected to manage the project once it opens. The hotels are part of The Bend on the Mighty Mississippi, a master-planned mixed-use development on a former industrial site located along the Mississippi River that brings retail, lodging, restaurants, apartments, offices and other amenities to a 132-acre site. There is a mile of unobstructed riverfront and a views of a noteworthy bald eagle breeding ground. Opening in 2018.

IN DEVELOPMENT

Colby College, Waterville, ME

Olympia will develop and manage Colby’s new 42-room boutique hotel and restaurant in downtown Waterville, Maine. The hotel will form the gateway to Waterville’s downtown revival and ground breaking is expected to commence in 2018.

The Williams Inn, Williamstown, MA

Olympia Hotel Management has assumed management of The Williams Inn in Williamstown, Massachusetts, which is owned by Williams College. Olympia is acting in a technical services capacity in the development of a new inn for the college and will manage that property when it opens in 2019.

Hilton Garden Inn, New Haven, CT

Located close to Yale University in downtown New Haven, this hotel is in the early planning stage.
