NANTUCKET, Ma (October 2017) – The global-tinged fare of Executive Chef Pedro Alaniz—known for infusing traditional Latin and Mediterranean cuisine with hallmark modernity—will be unveiled at The Nantucket Hotel + Resort this fall at Breeze Restaurant and Bar. Bringing his talent to island-inspired dishes, Chef plans to serve travelers a taste of the year-round resort.

“Chef Alaniz brings a winning culinary formula of excitement and precision to the island,” said Gwenn Snider, owner, The Nantucket Hotel + Resort. “We look forward to introducing his visionary menu."

With decades of diversified experience, Alaniz has elevated Mexican dishes at Boston’s Tacos Yucatecos, earned stripes at Intercontinental Hotel in Dubai and cooked at the White House. At Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, he honed French technique, which he later enlisted while chef at the Florida’s Everglades Club, the exclusive Five-Star Restaurant Café L Europe and other notable Palm Beach country clubs.

Blending his experience with local ingredients for an unforgettable island cuisine, Alaniz is heating up the kitchen with appetizers including house made lobster ravioli with asparagus tips, arugula, and truffle cream sauce or a pacific poke bowl with limu seaweed and ginger calrose rice. Guests can indulge in entrees like the ocean burger with cisco beer battered cod or start their morning with Whaler’s Pancakes and blueberry compote for the property’s brunch.

In addition to his leadership at The Nantucket Hotel restaurant, Alvirez is an ambassador and chronicler of Latin gastronomy. He first appeared on Delta Airlines Seafood Show, and today, he cooks on Univision’s Despierta America, is host of Boston radio program, Somos Tu Mundo, and is penning a recipe book.
