Sydney, Australia – The global hotel industry’s leading cloud platform, SiteMinder, has ranked 17th in the inaugural Tech Pioneers Report by venture capital firm H2 Ventures and specialist lending provider Investec. The report showcases the 50 greatest pioneering technology companies to come out of Australia and New Zealand, to be at the leading edge of the ‘ideas boom’ and drivers of the economy of the future.

“The Tech Pioneers 50 are those companies using technology to the best advantage and driving disruption within a variety of industries and sectors. These companies have a commitment to excellence, superior customer experience and a demonstrated ability to do one thing in a market better than anyone else,” said H2 Ventures and Investec in a joint statement.

Companies in the Tech Pioneers Report were selected on their total capital raised; rate of capital raising; geographic and sector diversity; consumer and marketplace traction; and “X-factor” as based on their degree of product, service and business model innovation.

SiteMinder’s co-founder and managing director, Mike Ford, said: “SiteMinder is privileged to be named among Australia and New Zealand’s most influential technology companies and biggest success stories. The Tech Pioneers Report highlights that the greatest technological innovations can indeed be produced from this part of the world and stand proudly with the best the global technology industry has to offer.”

Founded in 2006, SiteMinder offers groundbreaking, cloud-based products to help hotels increase their online revenue, streamline their business processes and lower their operational costs. Its technology suite – which includes the hospitality industry’s largest channel manager, a customisable booking engine, an intelligent hotel website creator, deep hotel system integration and global distribution system connection tools – powered a combined US$10.8 billion in revenue and more than 27 million reservations for hotels worldwide over the 12 months ending 30 June 2015.

Today SiteMinder has more than 20,000 hotel customers globally, including in the dynamic regions of Europe and the Americas where over sixty percent of its customers are located and supported locally by the company’s offices in London and Dallas. Its fast-growing presence within those two regions now complements its market-leading position within the Pacific and Asia where it has offices in Sydney and Bangkok.
