NEW YORK, Oct. 6, 2017 — This week, sbe, the leading lifestyle hospitality company that develops, manages and operates award-winning international hospitality brands, welcomed their first guests to Mondrian Doha in Qatar and Mondrian Park Avenue in New York. Both properties opened their doors in two of the greatest cities in the world on the very same day.

Sam Nazarian, founder and CEO of sbe, said: "Mondrian is a brand with international allure and we're thrilled to announce the openings in Doha and New York – two of the most dynamic and vibrant cities in the world. Mondrian is an extremely valuable brand to sbe and we look forward to bringing it to more cities around the world in the coming months and years as we expand our international footprint."

Mondrian Doha is sbe's first hotel in the Middle East, leading the way for more growth in the region. Designed by Marcel Wanders, Mondrian Doha is already being recognized as one of the world's most unique luxury destinations, featuring: 270 distinctive rooms, four restaurants showcasing both local and international cuisines, including Morimoto and CUT by Wolfgang Puck, as well as Magnolia Bakery, two curated bar outlets, the world's largest ESPA spa, and one of the largest most ornate ballrooms in Qatar. True to the Mondrian brand ethos, it brings a new level of energy and round-the-clock entertainment to the West Bay Lagoon area of the Qatari capital.

Mondrian Park Avenue is located in the heart of Manhattan's buzzing NoMad neighborhood. Initially conceived as an SLS designed by Philippe Starck, the 189-key hotel, managed by Journal Hotels, features stylish and contemporary guest rooms and suites, and a rooftop lounge with sweeping New York City views. Coming later this month, Cleo, sbe's award-winning culinary concept helmed by Chef Danny Elmaleh, will make its New York debut at the Park Avenue property.

Mondrian Doha and Mondrian Park Avenue are the fourth and fifth Mondrian hotels globally, after properties in London, Los Angeles and Miami South Beach. Additionally, the Mondrian brand has plans to expand in Dubai, UAE in 2019 and Playa Del Carmen, Mexico by 2020.
