InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG®), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has announced the signing of a new property in Singapore: Holiday Inn Express Singapore Serangoon. This latest addition to the fast-growing Holiday Inn Express portfolio, in partnership with Toledo International, is located at the emerging hip and creative area, Jalan Besar.

Expected to open in 2018, Holiday Inn Express Singapore Serangoon will be situated at the crossroads of Little India and Serangoon and close-by Singapore’s commercial and industrial areas, appealing to both leisure and business travellers. The select service hotel will add 120 rooms to Jalan Besar, which is home to many food outlets including Chye Seng Huat Hardware café, Char Restaurant and the 1952 Brewing Company brewery, bar and restaurant. As well as independent dining experiences, the area is favoured for its hipster coffee shops and retro shopping experiences. Little India and its eclectic roadside stalls is just a five-minute walk away, and the closest MRT only a 500-metre stroll.

Rajit Sukumaran as Chief Development Officer EMEAA East, IHG commented: “Across South East Asia we are strategically growing the much-loved Holiday Inn Express brand. We are delighted to be bringing our fourth Holiday Inn Express to Singapore in partnership with Toledo International.” “Holiday Inn Express Singapore Serangoon is going to be a hit with savvy visitors to the country. Its fantastic location means they can rest and go, with everything they need to recharge at the hotel before discovering the surrounding heritage trail or trendy areas. As the world’s fastest growing hotel brand, Holiday Inn Express has helped us to build IHG’s strongest development pipeline in a decade. It certainly gives us another big advantage in the select service space.”

A Toledo International spokesperson added: “To fulfil our growth ambition in this part of the world, we wanted to work with an outstanding hotel operator. IHG, as a market leader with over 5,000 hotels worldwide and a fantastic portfolio of brands is the perfect partner.”

“The Holiday Inn Express brand has a strong reputation across the globe, and we are delighted to be bringing this latest hotel to Singapore.”

The hotel will feature a fitness centre, meeting and laundry facilities, and the ‘Great Room’ with a complimentary guest breakfast buffet and a grab-and-go-style market pantry, along with frictionless service, faster check-in, restful sleep, and everything guests need for a great stay.
