BELGRADE, Serbia and MCLEAN, Va. – Hilton Worldwide (NYSE:HLT) today announced plans to enter Serbia with the signing of a management agreement with Belaga Management Company D.O.O. The agreement paves the way for an upscale Hilton hotel in Serbia's capital city, Belgrade, and was announced during a construction ceremony in the city to confirm the news Sunday, April 17. The 242 guest room hotel will offer travellers world-renowned Hilton hospitality in a prime location in Belgrade's historic Old-town.

"Growing our presence in city destinations in Southeastern Europe has formed a significant part of our regional growth strategy, as Hilton Belgrade joins Hilton Worldwide hotels trading or in development in approximately 30 European capitals," said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president of development, EMEA, Hilton Worldwide. "Expanding our portfolio to Belgrade will offer Hilton travellers an opportunity to experience one of the continent's most intriguing cities, which is fast-becoming a must-visit destination, whether arriving for leisure or as part of a business trip."

Historic Belgrade is seeing its fledgling art and cultural scene bring the city into renewed spotlight, making it an increasingly popular leisure destination, with direct connections to many European and Middle Eastern cities. The new-build seven storey Hilton Belgrade will be located in the city's Old-town and in close proximity to major sights such as Square Slavija, St. Mark's Church, the National Museum, Republic Square (Trg Republike) and the National Theatre. Also within easy reach will be government offices, financial institutions and major corporate offices.

For those looking for upscale accommodation, Hilton Belgrade will offer travellers comfortable and stylish surroundings, with a restaurant and bar on the ground floor and a rooftop drinking and dining space which will be one of the only rooftop spaces of its kind in the city. Guests will also be able to use and enjoy the hotel's fitness club, thermal facilities and executive lounge, along with retail space within the building.
