September 2014, Orlando, Florida-The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) is partnering with Aspire. People. Performance. Profits. (Aspire) to launch a new series of leadership development programming designed to strengthen hospitality leadership. The program delivers tools for industry leaders to enhance their leadership effectiveness through alignment, focus, and understanding of Aspire's proven processes for learning and development.

Called "The Art of Leadership," these programs will support the ongoing practice and reinforcement of six core leadership behaviors identified by Aspire over 20 years of experience collaborating with leaders in hospitality to improve performance. 

"Effective leadership is intentional," said Aspire's CEO and Chief Instigator Renie Cavallari. "At its heart, leadership is a behavior, not a position. To actually become a better leader you have to work at it daily and identify what matters most to achieve your goals. Our partnership with AHLEI provides leaders in our industry the focus and ongoing learning support they need to do this important work." 

Program topic areas will include: 

  • Today's leadership fundamentals, research, skills, and challenges
  •  How to create and sustain alignment around your brand promise and business strategies
  • Coaching skills to optimize performance and improve accountability
  • Senior leadership development around strategic thinking and change management                       

"This will not be your typical leadership training," said Scott Chapman, AHLEI's vice president, training and development. "Renie is very innovative, and brings a solid background in hospitality to this space. We are fortunate to be able to share her industry experience and knowledge with hospitality managers and executives." 

AHLEI expects to launch the first courses in the Art of Leadership series at the beginning of 2015.
