Atlanta, Ga. – May 31, 2017 – Coral Hospitality-GA today announced that Jason Smith will secede Bob Johnson as general manager of Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club. Johnson, who served as GM from 2004 to 2017, retired this spring. In addition, Matt Lamb has been hired as the resort’s executive chef.

A seasoned hotelier, Smith joins Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club as general manager – overseeing property operations, including the financial, food and beverage, staffing, recreational and guest services departments. Most recently, Smith served as a general manager with NorthPointe Hospitality Management, on Jekyll Island, Georgia. Previously, he held leadership roles overseeing resorts in Vermont, Florida, and Massachusetts.

Lamb joins Lake Blackshear Resort & Golf Club as executive chef, with extensive practical knowledge and a degree from Le Cordon Bleu School of Culinary Art. In his new position, Lamb will create and maintain a top-notch culinary experience for the resort’s full-service restaurant, Cordelia’s, and manage the kitchen productivity and staff across all property F&B outlets. A South Georgia native, Lamb previously held at the head chef role at Stonebridge Golf and Country Club in Albany and on an off-shore oil rig.
