July 18–Charlotte Plaza Uptown Hotel on South McDowell Street will be rebranded to Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in mid- to late-August.
The hotel has been under renovation since the first quarter. The hotel expanded its meeting space and is renovating its guest rooms, banquet rooms, and outdoor pool. The restaurant is closed for remodeling, but the hotel remains in operation during the renovation.
JHM Hotels will continue to operate the 196-room hotel.
Charlotte Plaza Uptown Hotel, previously Crown Plaza Uptown Hotel, changed to its current name in June 2013.
