Dec. 29–Value Place, an extended-stay hotel brand, has signed an agreement to build a 124-unit, four-story hotel in Bakersfield.

The expansion, announced Monday by Value Place, will be with Bhattal Enterprises, a Bakersfield company already operating fast food restaurants and gas stations in the area.

Ajit Bhattal, the company’s president, could not be reached Monday.

A news release from Value Place did not specify the location of the Bakersfield site, but said it expected to break ground in early 2015. It will be the state’s second Value Place location after Sacramento.

“I was attracted to Value Place because it complements my existing businesses within the city of Bakersfield,” Bhattal said in the news release.

Value Place has almost 200 hotels in 32 states.
