Oct. 30–Waterpark Ventures Management Services, a hotel and waterpark resort development and management company in Wisconsin Dells, has changed its name to Stand Rock Hospitality.

The name change more adequately reflects the company’s growth, expanded services and hotel portfolio, the partners of the company say. What is now Stand Rock Hospitality was formed in 2007 and is comprised of brothers Pete and Pat Helland and their cousin Tim Lucke, who developed and managed Wilderness at the Smokies Resort in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and were part of a group that developed Wilderness Resort in Lake Delton. Tim Gantz is also a partner with Stand Rock and is the former owner of Noah’s Ark.

The group is now building and will manage the 453-room Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark, scheduled to open in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania in March. When completed, the $163 million project will become the largest ski-in and ski-out indoor waterpark resort in the country.

In addition, Stand Rock has partnered with FirstPathway Partners of Milwaukee to develop a 101-room Hampton Inn & Suites across the street from State Fair Park in West Allis.
