PLANO – November 30, 2017 – Excitement and travel through the new Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel is well underway after opening this summer. Guests at the luxurious new hotel defy conventional travel and prefer to blur the lines between business and pleasure. The new General Manager has been announced as Bob Bula. The 304-room, 15-story hotel is a brand new addition to the new Legacy West urban mixed-use development.

Bob Bula joined the Marriott finance discipline shortly after graduating from Frostburg State University in Western Maryland. He held numerous assignments from assistant controller to director of finance and accounting at several hotels. Among his many years in finance, the most memorable was perhaps the opening of the 1000-room San Antonio Rivercenter Hotel as director of finance.

Following his assignment as director of finance at San Antonio Rivercenter, Bula moved to Marriott Headquarters in Washington D.C. to work with the Convention & Resort Brand Management team and on special projects. In 1997, Bula moved back to the operations side as the resident manager at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport Marriott Hotel. He has held general manager positions at the Dallas Fort Worth Solana Marriott, Dallas Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center and most recently the Dallas Fort Worth Airport Marriott.

Bula and his wife, Joann, reside in Southlake, Texas. They have three grown children and two granddaughters. Bob enjoys playing golf, spending time at the beach and playing with his granddaughters. They call me “Dziadusz” which is Polish for grandfather.

Owner and developer Sam Moon Group of the eponymous handbag and accessories retail empire, fulfills founder David Moon’s dream of expanding into the hospitality arena with the opening of their first hotel venture, operated by Renaissance Hotels. Among the Marriott portfolio, the Renaissance brand is known for well-curated business hotels that act as a catalyst for unexpected guest experiences. Think: business hotel interrupted – and so much better than expected. The Renaissance brand specializes in pushing beyond business travel, and the Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West attests to this with a clear “Business Unusual” sensibility.

The Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel includes 30,000 square feet of flexible conference and meeting space; a state-of-the-art fitness center; three restaurant options; club level with lounge; and an amenity deck with heated pool, cabanas, outdoor bar, grill and event space. Wide-open interior spaces with broad site lines embody the indigenous elements of the Texas prairie. Soothing Asian influences combine with Texas energy and vitality to engender a truly unique hospitality experience.

“We are thrilled to join the Sam Moon Group in bringing the Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel to the North Texas area. The Moon family has designed and built a world-class project that will set the new standard of luxury for Plano and the surrounding communities,” said Bob Bula, general manager of the hotel. “The hotel has added hundreds of jobs and other economic benefits to Plano along with offering a relaxing yet vibrant choice for business and leisure travelers alike. We can’t wait to welcome guests from near and far to enjoy our delectable fare in our restaurants and bar area whether they are staying with us, stopping in while shopping or visiting the area for business.”
