NASHVILLE, TN – Developed by 4PANT, LLC, in partnership with Dream Hotel Group, Dream Nashville will be a driving force in the ongoing restoration and revitalization of downtown Nashville. Located in Printers Alley at Fourth Avenue North, the 169-room hotel is expected to open with eight experiential dining and nightlife venues in mid-2018 and pairs Earl Swensson Architects with Meyer Davis Studio for the interiors.

The groundbreaking ceremony for this exciting redevelopment took place today, Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at 11:00am, and featured Vice Mayor David Briley as keynote speaker, as well as key members of the Dream team, developers Alex Marks and Bill Barkley and Dream Hotel Group CEO Jay Stein, among others.

The opening of Dream Nashville is part of a larger economic development plan for the city of Nashville. With more visitors and business relocations in recent history, the city is experiencing unparalleled growth and record wealth creation. Dream Nashville is expected to generate tax revenue and create new jobs, while also offering the growing residential and business communities a new reason to work and play in the neighborhood surrounding Printers Alley.

“It’s a credit to the development team that Dream Nashville will both honor and extend the spirit and energy of Nashville’s historic Printers Alley, and we will certainly look back on this groundbreaking and note the re-birth of an iconic neighborhood,” said Vice Mayor David Briley. “We are experiencing unprecedented economic growth in Nashville with more visitors than ever, too many business relocations to count, and unprecedented wealth creation. This project uniquely offers a new reason for the world to visit Printers Alley and experience Music City.”

“We are excited to welcome the Dream brand to Nashville,” added Butch Spyridon, President and CEO of the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. “They are helping to fill the upscale ‘boutique’ void, as well as shining a new light on historic Printers Alley. This is truly a dream project on many levels.”

Printers Alley takes its name from its early connection with Nashville's printing and publishing industry, then located in the immediate area. The Alley also became the center of the city's nightlife and serviced the hotels, restaurants, and saloons fronting on Fourth Avenue, which was known as the Men's Quarter in the late nineteenth century. Nightclubs opened in the 1940s, and the alley became a showcase for the talents of performers such as Boots Randolph, Chet Atkins, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams and Dottie West. This historic district's architecture includes elegant late Victorian styles, Nashville's first automobile parking garage and the city's first ‘skyscraper.’ Although the printers have long since gone, the world famous Printers Alley still remains as Nashville's dirty little secret. It didn't matter what you were looking for, you could find it there.

Joining Vice Mayor Briley at the podium today were 4PANT Principals Alex Marks and Bill Barkley; Dream Hotel Group CEO Jay Stein; Councilman Freddie O’Connell; Metropolitan Development & Housing Agency Executive Director James Harbison; Historical Commission Director Tim Walker; and historian David Ewing.

Dream Nashville will open with 169 rooms and eight dining and nightlife options in mid-2018. Situated in historic Printers Alley, the hotel’s presence will contribute to an important area of the city. It will support the local community and the 13.5 million tourists that come to the city each year, and add another facet to Nashville’s iconic downtown district.
