Owned by DiamondRock Hospitality Company and Operated by Interstate Hotels & Resorts
"The Westin brand promotes well-being and the enhancements we've made to this D.C. property are designed to inspire successful travel, work, meeting, and vacation experiences," said Patty Connolly, general manager. "This project coincides with the exciting revitalization of the 14th Street corridor in Washington, D.C. Our hotel, much like this city, has a storied past and we are looking forward to embracing an exciting new future. The striking redesign blended with our prime location is sure to make the Westin Washington, D.C. City Center the most desirable hotel in the nation's capital."
Each guest-room and suite at the hotel now features newly-remodeled bathrooms, fresh guest-room soft goods, 50-inch LED TVs, refrigerators and safes. All rooms now also offer the world-renowned Westin Heavenly® Bed - an oasis of lush sheets, down cushioning and a patented pillow-top mattress, which cradles and contours to the body for truly restorative sleep. Guests will revive in the Heavenly® Bath enhanced with the brand's Heavenly® Shower, Heavenly® Robe and White Tea Aloe bath amenities. All guest rooms feature wireless high-speed Internet access. The hotel also now offers the Westin brand's signature SuperFoodsRX® menu, which includes nutrient-rich and delicious options to tempt every palate.
New Dining Options at Fringetree
Blending modern design with healthful menu offerings, the Westin Washington, D.C. City Center introduces Fringetree, the innovative on-site restaurant and lounge. Located off the lobby, Fringetree provides the ideal atmosphere for a delectable meal or handcrafted cocktail. This modern and intimate creation fuses the contemporary feel of a sophisticated urban eatery with options for the health-conscious guest. The menu includes traditional dishes, as well as cutting-edge creations that encompass Westin's SuperFoods concept. A wide-ranging selection of wine, local beer on tap and cocktails complement the imaginative cuisine. A full-service dining outlet, Fringetree also offers an adjoining Grab-and-Go counter serving Starbucks® coffee, breakfast sandwiches and light fare.
Enlightened Meeting Space
The hotel's transformation also includes a new look and feel to 17,500 square-feet of versatile meeting and banquet space. With enhanced catering and event planning services, and the latest in meetings technology, Westin Washington, D.C. City Center makes the ideal venue for weddings, social galas and business functions. The hotel also offers Tangent™ at Westin, a sophisticated workspace concept that meets the changing needs of today's mobile business travelers and small workgroups.
Redesigned Lobby and Public Spaces
Developed with the guest's well-being in mind, the new lobby concept serves as a modern-day oasis from the demands of travel by incorporating natural elements, vertical gardens, flexible and functional seating. The Vertical Garden is a unique focal element of the new Westin lobby concept designed to improve indoor air quality and create a calming, more natural environment. Guests are transported from the everyday and are greeted with a unique balance of calm and energy, beginning with a more customized experience at the new Westin check-in pods. These freestanding structures replace the traditional hotel check-in desk and are ergonomically designed with work surfaces at optimum heights and a more spacious, personal guest interaction area.
Additional new facilities include an expanded 24-hour WestinWORKOUT® that provides guests a sleek, airy fitness studio featuring state-of-the-art Life Fitness® equipment combined with high-performance workouts. The property also offers Gear Lending with New Balance to add an extra vital element: sole. For a nominal charge, New Balance gear will be delivered to guestrooms to help visitors pack light and stay fit when on the road.
