Hotel Online Special Report Kaye Chon Appointed Head of Hotel School at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University June 15, 2000 – Dr. Kaye Chon was appointed the Head and Chair Professor in the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University effective July 3, 2000.

Chon is currently a professor and executive director of the Tourism Industry Institute at University of Houston’s Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management and also a frequent organizer of international tourism conferences, which include the Fourth Biennial Conference on Tourism in

Professor Kaye Chon Southeast Asia, slated to take place at Chiang Mai, Thailand, June 24-26, 2000. Chon is also the chief editor of the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research, Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing, Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, and Journal of Teaching in Travel & Tourism.

The hotel school at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University was established in 1980 and is regarded as one of the premier hospitality programs in Asia and is recognized by the World Tourism Organization as one of the 16 tourism education centers in the world.
