| The CrossCheck “Pre-Authorization” works for any revenue event for
a hotel to ensure payment before services are delivered.
For example, the Flamingo Hilton Las Vegas runs a high volume Wedding Chapel that is often followed by wedding reception catered events by their luxurious pool area. All revenue events surrounding the wedding, including photographers provided by the hotel, ordained Minister performing the services, use of the Wedding Chapel for the ceremony, food for the wedding reception, hotel rooms for the “Out-Of-Town” wedding guests, and any other incidental charges such as flowers, etc., can all be put under the “Pre-Authorization” program by CrossCheck. In dealing with weddings, the Flamingo Hilton Las Vegas is generally serving the “youth market”. These individuals would likely fall into the category of the 48% of the American public that does not own a credit card. Yet; that is exactly the Wedding Market that the Las Vegas Flamingo Hilton wants to target for its Wedding Chapel. How do you maximize sales in this area. With CrossCheck’s “Pre-Authorization”, the person who will be paying for the wedding simply provides their Drivers License number, or State I.D., or Military I.D. for authorization. Once that authorization is obtained in a matter of seconds, the hotel is assured that it will be paid for all of the services rendered. (Canadian clients would provide their phone number for authorization, and would write their Canadian check in “U.S. Funds”.). The most important thing to note here is that CrossCheck is a great
sales tool. It gives participating hotels a competitive advantage,
while capturing business that may be lost as a result of not providing
the customer enough flexibility in payment options. In this case,
where weddings are involved, CrossCheck has another program called “Multiple
Check” that would allow the wedding family to “finance” the expenses of
the wedding by writing up to four checks to the hotel, and indicating to
the hotel when they want those checks deposited within the next 30 days.
For example, if the wife has a job where she is paid on the 15th of each
month, and the husband has a job where he is paid on the 1st of the month,
they may not have the cash flow to afford to pay the hotel all of the money
at the time of the wedding. This is another advantage of the CrossCheck
program.
