    San Antonio's Camberly Gunter Hotel Reflagged as 
Sheraton Gunter Hotel by its Owner Houston Street 
Hotel Partners, L.P. of Los Angeles
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Oct. 24, 2000 - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) has signed a franchise agreement and converted the former Camberly Gunter Hotel to the Sheraton Gunter Hotel, effective Sept. 15, 2000.  Originally opened in 1909, the 322-room historic property is located in downtown San Antonio, just one half block from the city�s famous Riverwalk.  The hotel is owned by Houston Street Hotel Partners, L.P. of Los Angeles and operated by American Property Management Corporation of San Diego.

In 1997 the hotel completed a $5 million guest room renovation, followed in April 2000 by an $8 million renovation focusing on the hotel�s exterior and public spaces.  Hotel features include 18,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, outdoor pool, fitness facility, three-meal-a-day restaurant and a lobby lounge.

�The Sheraton Gunter further emphasizes Starwood�s commitment to the San Antonio market,� remarked Ted Darnall, president of North American hotel operations for Starwood.  �With four existing properties and one under development, Starwood offers travelers a wide range of accommodations options while visiting San Antonio, from golf in the Hill Country to conventions on the Riverwalk.�

Starwood�s San Antonio collection includes The Westin La Cantera Resort in the San Antonio Hill Country, the Four Points Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk North and The Westin Riverwalk which opened in Nov. 1999 overlooking the city�s famous waterway.
