NORTHBROOK, Ill. - Oct. 25, 2000 - Mr. Forrest Schneider, President
and Chief Executive Officer of Lane Industries, Inc., a privately held,
diversified holding company, today announced that Bill DeForrest, has been
named President and Chief Executive Officer of Lane Hospitality.
Mr. DeForrest joined the Lane Hospitality staff early in the company�s
history, then honed his career in executive and management positions in
hotels and resorts in Colorado. He returned to Lane in 1996 as Senior Vice
President of Development and was appointed interim president in August,
2000.

strength of experience and knowledge of the industry, as well as the personal

Brookdale Appoints John P. Rijos as President
and CEO
CHICAGO, Aug. 22, 2000 - Brookdale Living Communities,
Inc. announced today that John P. Rijos has joined Brookdale as President
and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Rijos has over 25 years of experience
in the acquisition, development and operation of hotels and resorts, and
since 1986 had been the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Lane
Hospitality Group, owners and operators of over 40 hotels and resorts nationwide.
