Cynthia Schneider, U.S. Ambassador to The Netherlands, officially opened the new guest wing of the hotel and addressed the guests and dignitaries, including the Governor of Limburg and the Mayor of Vaals. “As the world gets smaller and smaller while its economies become more global, the United States has increasingly recognized the great value and advantages of doing business in The Netherlands. Dolce International’s expansion of Vaalsbroek will further awareness of the tri-national Limburg area internationally and bring added economic opportunity into the Vaals region. It is exciting to see companies like Dolce International expand their operations here, and I wish them much success in the future.”

Dedicated Learning Environment
Explains Vaalsbroek General Manager Jan Janssen, “In keeping with Dolce International standards, we used the expansion and renovation project as an opportunity to enhance our information technology throughout the property. Our conference facilities now offer Internet access, onsite videoconferencing, and high-end SVGA LCD projection.” 

Enhanced Fitness Facilities
A complete onsite fitness package was also a major focus of this project; thus the addition of the new Dolce Vital Beauty and Health Spa. Featuring a new indoor pool and fitness center, Dolce Vital also offers luxurious spa amenities such as massage, facial, and both Finnish and aroma-light therapy saunas. It is augmented by a full-service beauty salon featuring Babor beauty products. There are also more than twelve golf courses in the immediate area.

Dolce/AEW, L.P. purchased Vaalsbroek in March 1999 and began the renovation and expansion shortly after. Initially the existing 50 guestrooms were completely refurbished, a new lobby lounge added, and the a la carte restaurant, In de Oude Watermolen, expanded.
