AUSTIN, TX-May 23, 2000- Since the inception
of the HFTP International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame in 1989,
19 individuals have been recognized for their contributions to the hospitality
industry at HITEC®, (Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and
Conference) the world�s oldest hospitality technology conference.
At this year�s HITEC, June 20-22 at the Dallas Convention Center, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) will continue this trend of excellence by inducting Robert S. Bennett, Hospitality & Leisure, Management Consulting Services, for PricewaterhouseCoopers, to this prestigious group of industry professionals. The Technology Hall of Fame is the hospitality industry�s highest level of recognition in the area of technology. Hall of Fame members have been selected by their peers as representing the best in innovation and application of technology and as leaders in their profession. To be eligible for selection to the Technology Hall of Fame, an individual must have made significant and lasting contributions to hospitality technology in any or all areas of development, application, and promotion. HITEC®, produced by Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®), is the most comprehensive meeting of its kind in the hospitality industry. It addresses the use of technology in the industry and brings together buyers and sellers of technology under one roof. More than 5,500 hospitality executives and exhibitors from around the world are expected to attend this three-day conference and exposition. In addition to hearing the industry�s leading speakers, attendees receive practical information at �nuts-and-bolts� training sessions. The 600-plus booth exposition includes companies providing technical services and products in the hospitality industry. Based in Austin, Texas, HFTP is the professional association for financial and IS personnel working in hotels, resorts, clubs, casinos, restaurants, and other hospitality-related businesses. The association provides continuing education and networking opportunities to more than 4,000 members around the world.
