Emerging Business Opportunities at Choice Hotels |
SILVER SPRING, Md., May 3, 2000 - Choice Hotels
International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) today announced the promotion of Daniel
Rothfeld to the newly-created post of senior vice president, e-commerce
and emerging business opportunities.
Rothfeld had been vice president, partner services group, a position he assumed in 1998. In this role, he was responsible for a number of innovations at Choice, including the development and rollout of www.ChoiceBuys.com, the company�s online procurement system; the exploration of internet access and in-room PC programs for Choice brand hotels; and strategic alliances with Fortune 500 consumer product and service companies that resulted in significant benefits for Choice franchisees, hotel guests and the company. �Dan Rothfeld has already demonstrated a keen ability to identify business opportunities, incubate them and bring them to market,� said Charles A. Ledsinger, Jr., president and CEO of Choice. �His efforts have been critical in establishing Choice as an innovative leader, particularly in the realm of e-commerce. This new post recognizes his efforts and positions him and his team to continue to capitalize on new opportunities in the ever-changing e-commerce environment.� In his new position, Rothfeld reports directly to Ledsinger. Rothfeld joined Choice from Interim Services, Inc., where he was vice
president of corporate services. While at Interim, he was responsible for
implementing the first strategic vendor partnership program in the personnel
services industry.
