June 15, 2000 - Dr. Kaye Chon was appointed the Head and Chair Professor in the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University effective July 3, 2000.  Chon is currently a professor and executive director of the Tourism Industry Institute at University of Houston’s Conrad N. The hotel school at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University was established in 1980 and is regarded as one of the premier hospitality programs in Asia and is recognized by the World Tourism Organization as one of the 16 tourism education centers in the world.
