NEW YORK - April 4, 2000--Food Wine today announces
the winners of the magazine�s thirteenth annual Best New Chefs Awards at
a gala ceremony at Guastavino�s Restaurant, 409 East 59th Street (under
the Queensboro Bridge) with Master of Ceremonies Kyle MacLachlan.
At the event, past award recipients including Scott Bryan (Veritas), Rocco
DiSpirito (Union Pacific), Michael Romano (Union Square Caf) and Dan Silverman
(Union Square Caf) will be on hand to serve their signature dishes.
The Best New Chefs Awards for 2000 are sponsored by Audi of America
and the Tuscan Estates of Ruffino. This year�s ten Best New Chefs,
selected from restaurants across the nation, are the most exciting young
culinary talents in the country today. Chosen by the editors of Food Wine
from an exhaustive research process of tastings and interviews with prominent

The Best New Chefs 2000 will cook together for the first time in June when they prepare a meal for 800 guests at the Food Wine Magazine Classic at Aspen.
