�Franchise Courtyard Hotel of the Year� at Marriott�s Annual General Managers Conference |

21, 2000 � The Courtyard by Marriott-Tupelo was awarded �Franchise Courtyard
Hotel of the Year� at Marriott�s Annual General Managers Conference held
in Atlanta, GA. This prestigious award honors hotels for their superior
hotel performance based on financial performance, guest satisfaction, associate
satisfaction and community involvement. The hotel also received Marriott�s
President�s Award honoring those hotels which achieved the highest levels
of guest satisfaction for the entire year. Hotel General Manager
Phil McKay accepted these awards on behalf of the hotel.
McKay, a long-term veteran of the hotel industry, attributes his success to �quality & consistency for his guests, which is sometime underrated in the hotel industry.� McKay says, �I find the right people for my team, they are the root of our success. We hold to the Marriott philosophy of excellent service.� He has continued to grow occupancy over last year and anticipates this trend to continue.
