WAT&G Leads in Designing the Top Resorts |
| NEWPORT BEACH, California - February 20, 2000
- Twenty-two projects designed by Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo (WAT&G)
were chosen as the best in the world in a comprehensive survey conducted
by Condé Nast Traveler magazine. The Grand Hyatt in Bali,
Four Seasons Resort Maui in Hawaii, The Palace of the Lost City in South
Africa—along with Ritz-Carlton resorts in St. Thomas, Palm Beach, Amelia
Island, Naples, and Pasadena—were rated with superlative scores by discriminating
travelers.
According to the survey, WAT&G designed more of the world’s top destinations than any other firm on the planet, including: all five of the best resorts in North America; the number one resort in the Caribbean/Atlantic; nine of the top 25 Pacific Rim resorts; plus two of the top five Asian resorts; and one of the best two resorts in Africa. Among the other top-rated hotels in the world, WAT&G designed the Four Seasons in Mexico City; The Ritz-Carlton, Huntington in Pasadena; and Four Seasons Chinzan-so in Tokyo. WAT&G also designed nine of the best hotels in Hawaii. The survey of nearly 27,000 respondents was administered by Condé
Nast Traveler magazine and tabulated independently by Mark Clements Research,
Inc. Hotels and resorts were evaluated not just by their rooms and
service but also on the basis of their ambience, their setting, and their
facilities.
WAT&G is recognized as the world’s number one architecture, planning, design and consulting firm specializing in hospitality, leisure, and entertainment. Since its founding in 1945, WAT&G has designed destinations in 119 countries and territories from its offices in Honolulu, Newport Beach, London and Singapore. |
