 John Mayewski and John R. Spina Named VP 
and GM at Hollywood Park, Inc. Casinos
 
John Mayewski Appointed VP and GM of Casino Magic Bossier City, Louisiana
BOSSIER CITY, La., Oct. 22, 1999 - J. Michael Allen, Chief Operating Officer of Hollywood Park, Inc.�s (NYSE: HPK) Gaming Division, the parent organization of Casino Magic Bossier City, La., has announced the appointment of John Mayewski to the position of Vice President and General Manager of the property.  In his new position, Mayewski will oversee all aspects of Casino Magic Bossier City�s operations including gaming, hotel, food and beverage, entertainment and administration. Additionally, Mayewski will direct the property�s strategic planning process.

�It is not often that you find someone whose experience and expertise in finance is coupled with such a strong knowledge of operations and strategic planning,� said Allen. �John is one of those people. We�re very pleased to know that a man of John�s integrity and seasoned professionalism will be overseeing our property in Bossier City.�

Mayewski began his career in the gaming entertainment business in 1980 as the director of internal audit for Harrah�s Atlantic City. Most recently, he served as Vice President�Finance of Sun International�s Atlantis Casino and Resort in Paradise Island, Bahamas. In a career that has been diverse not only in geographic locations, but also in responsibilities, Mayewski has opened and developed new properties in various gaming jurisdictions around the country for Harrah�s. In addition, he has served as Vice President - Finance/Administration and CFO for Harrah�s Northern Nevada Division, Harrah�s New Orleans, and Harrah�s Atlantic City. 

Prior to entering the gaming industry, he worked at the accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick.  A New York native, Mayewski received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with honors from Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York. He is also a graduate of Harrah�s Executive Development Program, and has completed distinguished executive education programs at the University of Pennsylvania�s Wharton School of Business and Harvard University�s Levinson Leadership Institute.

John R. Spina Appointed Vice President and General Manager of Belterra Resort
And Casino Vevay, Indiana
VEVAY, Ind., Oct. 22, 1999 -  J. Michael Allen, Chief Operating Officer of Hollywood Park, Inc.�s (NYSE: HPK) Gaming Division, the parent organization of Belterra Resort and Casino in Vevay, Ind., has announced the appointment of John R. Spina to the position of Vice President and General Manager of the property which is currently under development.

�John�s 18 years of gaming experience includes the opening of many new hotel/casinos, making him a perfect fit for our property in Vevay,� said Allen. �His experience and expertise in operations, marketing, finance and development will contribute significantly to our success in Indiana.�

In his new position, Spina will be assembling the senior management team, which will oversee the development of the property and subsequent operations, including gaming, hotel, food and beverage, entertainment, golf course and administration.

Spina began his career in the gaming industry in 1981 as the Director of Planning for Harrah�s Atlantic City. Most recently, he served as Vice President/General Manager of Hyatt�s Grand Victoria Casino and Resort in Rising Sun, Ind. Prior to his position with Hyatt he served as Executive Vice President - Operations for Ameristrar Casinos, based in Las Vegas, Nev. During his tenure at Ameristar, Spina was responsible for the opening of two gaming properties, one of which was a riverboat casino.

Spina received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and an MBA degree in Finance from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa. Spina also holds gaming licenses in New Jersey, Iowa, Indiana and Mississippi. 

Commenting on Spina�s appointment, Paul Alanis, President of Hollywood Park, stated, �We are confident that John will implement marketing and information system programs that will make our property extremely competitive and financially successful. Casino Magic Bossier City
Hollywood Park is a diversified gaming company that owns and operates eight casinos (four with hotels) in Nevada, Mississippi, Louisiana and Argentina; owns a card club casino and leases a second card club casino, both in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area; and owns and operates a horse racing facility in Arizona. Hollywood Park is also in the process of constructing the Belterra Resort and Casino, a riverboat gaming casino and resort hotel 
on the Ohio river in Indiana (located in Switzerland County, Indiana, 35 miles from Cincinnati, Ohio) and has announced its intentions to seek the fifteenth and final gaming license to be issued in Louisiana (at a site in Lake Charles, Louisiana).
