ATLANTA, Sept. 9, 1999 - Business travelers can now enjoy
a new interior corridor Jameson Inn with upgraded amenities designed especially
for them as Atlanta-based Jameson Inns, Inc. (Nasdaq: JAMS), owner of Jameson
Inn and Signature Inn hotels, announces the opening of two new Jameson
Inn interior corridor hotels in Rome, Georgia and Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
These new properties will be prototypes for future Jameson Inns.
We have designed this new Jameson Inn with our guests in mind, said
Thomas Kitchin, chairman and CEO. From larger work stations to an
expanded continental breakfast, Jameson is continually evolving to meet
our guests needs. I feel this new design is the most aesthetically pleasing
and functional hotel in the limited service arena.
Located
at 40 Grace Drive off Highway 411, the Rome property is the 33rd Jameson
Inn in Georgia. This hotel features 68 guest rooms with a large indoor
heated pool with retractable roof. Located at 216 S. Rutgers Avenue
off Highway 95, the Oak Ridge property features 80 guest rooms and is the
sixth Jameson Inn in Tennessee.

The company will open 10 similar design hotels this year and continue building
the interior design hotel in larger markets.
We have done a tremendous amount of research into what our guests want
in a perfect stay every time, said Greg Winey, director of operations.
Not only are we offering the best of the best under one roof, but probably
at a 20 percent discount than other comparable hotels.
Jameson has established itself as one of the fastest growing limited
stay hotel companies increasing its size by five times since the initial
public offering in 1994. The companys total number of rooms have increased
from less than 500 in 1991, to more than 4,000 today. An additional 1,000
rooms will open in 1999. Jameson Inns was founded 12 years ago by
Tom Kitchin after he was intrigued by research indicating that the lodging
industry has become inconsistent in serving the traveler. Based on this,
Kitchin developed a business plan that demanded quality and consistency.
The plan was achieved by having one owner, locating in markets that have
a solid industrial base, and eliminating the purchase or sale of a franchise.
Jameson Inns, Inc. is a real estate investment trust which develops and
owns the Jameson Inn and Signature Inn brands. The Jameson Inns are colonial-
style, limited service hotel properties in the Southeast. Signature Inns
are larger, limited service hotel properties primarily in the Midwest.
Jameson Inns, Inc. currently has 112 operating inns. All of the inns are
leased to and operated by Jameson Hospitality, LLC which has over 3,000
employees. |
