MONTVALE, NJ (January 28, 1999). Andy Dolce, Chairman
and Chief Executive Officer of Dolce International, has named Andy MacLellan
President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company. Explains Dolce, By
taking charge of our operating activities, MacLellan will allow me to focus
more energy on the capital side of the business and to provide greater
strategic direction for our growth. MacLellan will also spearhead Dolce
Internationals efforts to acquire more management contracts similar to
the 384-room Oak Brook Hills in Chicago, Illinois. He has extensive industry
relationships and contacts with a proven track record in dealing with investors
and owners on which Dolce hopes to capitalize.
Continues MacLellan, In Dolce International Andy Dolce has created a nurturing environment which provides internal growth for its people. Because the Company already enjoys a strong management and customer base, it will be easier to grow strategically and aggressively through management contracts and acquisitions. My multi-cultural background, extensive operations experience at four and five-star resort properties, and expertise in building companies will be a strong complement to Dolce International at this pivotal time in its development. Born in Mexico and raised there and in Latin America, MacLellan has
extensive experience in the hotel and resort business. A graduate of the
University of Denver with a bachelor of science degree in Hotel and Restaurant
Management, MacLellan was recruited out of hotel school by Westin Hotels.
He began his 18-year career with Westin working in various management roles
at the Westin Bonaventure, the Westin Williams Center and the Westin Crown
Center.
In 1990 MacLellan joined Bass Hotels & Resorts as Vice President and Managing Director of the company-owned, managed, and leased properties. The portfolio consisted of 131 hotels in North America, the Caribbean and Latin America. Three years later MacLellan formed his own company, The Austin Lomas Group, for the purpose of acquiring and managing hotels. He served as president for five years. He was also very active with the Olympic Games in Atlanta, securing a contract to provide accommodations services. Dolce International is the global leader in learning through meetings and leisure, representing a growing portfolio of conference hotels, conference resorts and private/corporate centers in the United States, Canada and Europe. |
