House of Blues Opening 600 Seat Restaurant at Mandalay Bay Resort Casino
 
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 4, 1999 -  HOB Entertainment, Inc. will open its newest and seventh venue, HOUSE OF BLUES -- LAS VEGAS on March 2, 1999 as part of Mandalay Bay Resort Casino, a 3,300-room luxury destination resort located on the south end of the world famous Las Vegas Strip. The legendary Bob Dylan will perform in a special midnight performance followed the next evening, March 3rd, by The Blues Brothers with special guest Buddy Guy.

House of Blues-Las Vegas will feature a live music venue accommodating 1,800 people and a 600-seat restaurant located off the resort's casino floor. The music, as at all House of Blues venues, will feature a wide variety of genres encompassing everything from rock, RB, reggae, hip-hop, country, jazz and of course, blues. Known the world-over for its delicious live music offerings, House of Blues will also bring a mouth-watering mix of Delta-inspired cuisine to its new home. The 600-seat House of Blues Restaurant, which is adjacent to the 1,800-capacity music hall and House of Blues Company (Retail) Store, will serve an exciting array of cuisine to satisfy all tastes. From the classic "Elwood" sandwich (named for Dan Aykroyd's character from The Blues Brothers movie) and Memphis-style ribs with Jack Daniels sauce to Cedar Plank Salmon with Watercress-Jicama Salad and Voodoo Shrimp served with Rosemary Cornbread, the food ranges from the casual to the sublime.

An extension of the House of Blues Restaurant is its world-renown Sunday Gospel Brunch which will kickoff on Sunday, March 7th. Brunch times are scheduled for 10am and 1pm every Sunday and offer the best in exciting and uplifting Gospel performances by local and national touring gospel groups while featuring an "all-you-can-eat" southern-style brunch buffet.

The Sunday Gospel Brunch menu features, among many items, unlimited champagne and mimosas, crispy fried chicken, jambalaya, prime rib, smoked turkey, bacon, bagels, cornbread, cheese grits, assorted salads and fruit, boiled shrimp, bread pudding and a style-your-own omelet station. All dishes will be expertly prepared by executive chef Paul Schlosser to make tastebuds sing.

Additionally, an entire floor of the 43-story resort is dedicated to House of Blues-themed guest rooms, while the top floor of the hotel, which offers a sweeping view of the Las Vegas Strip, will accommodate an exclusive 14,000-square-foot International House of Blues Foundation Room, which will offer a decadently comfortable lounge area; several intimate dining spaces; a dining room offering the finest cuisine (prepared by Foundation Room chef -- Russell Grabe) and best selection of wines in Las Vegas; and a media center complete with state-of-the-art equipment for high tech multi-media presentations.
 

House of Blues Hospitality develops high-energy hotels adjacent to House of Blues live music restaurant venues. House of Blues at Mandalay Bay Resort will feature 99 uniquely designed  guestrooms and suites. Located on the 34th floor, the House of Blues will be designed with Gothic, Moroccan and East Indian elements and will feature original pieces of folk art throughout.

Guests of the House of Blues will have special privileges in the House of Blues live music restaurant venue as well as full access to the exclusive House of Blues Foundation Room. 

The International House of Blues Foundation is the 501(c)(3) arm of HOB Entertainment, Inc. The Foundation was created to increase racial harmony through educational outreach programs and to help bring music back into public schools. Programs include "Blues Schoolhouse" for 5th-12th graders, teacher workshops, artist-in-residence programs and Blues Ambassador scholarships for high school students.
