Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced today the opening of the deluxe, 398-room
Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel Towers. The hotel joins Starwood's two other
Sheraton Hotels and four Westin hotels in Japan: the Sheraton Grande Tokyo
Bay in Chiba, the Kobe Bay Sheraton Hotel Towers in Kobe, The Westin Kyoto
Takaragaike Prince Hotel, The Westin Nagoya Castle, The Westin Osaka and
The Westin Tokyo. With the opening of the Yokohama Bay Sheraton, the company
now offers a total of 2,768 guest rooms in its seven Japanese hotels.

Built at a cost of $368 million(A) (50 billion yen), the Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel Towers is owned by Sagami Railway Co. Ltd. The 28-story hotel commands a spectacular view of Yokohama Bay, the Rainbow Bridge and the downtown area. Yokohama is one of the largest ports in the world and a major center of economic and technological activity. Based on its "Minato Mirai 21" (or "Future Port of the 21st century") major urban redevelopment project combining business, commercial, cultural and residential aspects, Yokohama aims to be a highly integrated international city in the next century. Major industries in Yokohama include shipping, auto manufacturing, oil refining, computers and other high technology-oriented industries. Yokohama Bay Sheraton Hotel Towers is well sited to cater to the burgeoning business activities of the city.
