Vientiane Laos - 17 July 1998 - Novotel Vientiane,
the only international first class hotel in Laos, has unveiled a fresh
new look.
The façade has been completely re-worked to give the Novotel a more colonial style using colours typical of Indochina and locally crafted iron-work at the front entrance. As guests enter the lobby and restaurant they will feel they are stepping into another era, experiencing the subtle mix of European and Asian influences from the beginning of the century. The extensively refurbished Executive Floor provides the highest level of service and facilities for business travellers staying in the Lao capital. The new rooms include a fax machine, VCR, hi-fi in the suites, safety deposit box, 25" TV (29" in the suites), and in-bathroom telephone. Guests have exclusive access to the Executive Floor lounge, where complimentary breakfast and evening snacks and drinks are served. There are also collections of videos, CDs and books for guests to borrow, as well as shoe-shining, laundry and dry-cleaning services, ticket re-confirmation, pre-check-in, airport transfers, local calls & fax and minibar. Non-alcoholic items are also provided free of charge. The investment in the upgrade of the Novotel has not just been to the facilities, but also to human resources and training. The aim is to establish the Novotel as both a highly efficient and technologically advanced office away from the office, and a comfortable, friendly home away from home - as many guests are long-stay visitors to Vientiane. Novotel Vientiane is a 230-room hotel, located five minutes from the international airport and the city center and the Novotel provides a free shuttle bus to both. It features an international restaurant open 24 hours, a poolside bar & barbecue, lobby lounge, beer garden, discotheque, swimming pool, fitness center, tennis court, business center and boutiques. Novotel Vientiane is managed by Accor Asia Pacific the largest hotel
operator in the region with 135 hotels in Asia Pacific, including 53 Novotels.
Accor is also the largest international operator in the Indochina region,
with hotels in Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Vietnam.
