New Educational Institute Products Address Unique Needs of Gaming Industry

ORLANDO, Fla., October 1997To meet the unique training needs of the booming gaming industry, the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association (EI) has customized three of its popular products with a gaming focus.

Gaming Security Officer, Supervisory Skill Builders for the Gaming Industry, and Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively (CARE®) for Gaming Servers were developed with input from gaming industry veterans, who added their expertise to EIs 40-plus years of hospitality training experience.

Gaming Security Officer consists of four modular textbooks, a video supplement, and a workbook with progress quizzes and final exam.  Successful participants receive a certificate of completion.  The program provides security techniques and tips as well as gaming-specific information on how to provide effective security at gaming properties.

Supervisory Skill Builders for the Gaming Industry is a nine-workbook series filled with critical information on how gaming supervisors should carry out their responsibilities to management and employees.

CARE® for Gaming Servers provides valuable information bartenders and alcohol servers must know to handle the challenges of serving alcohol in the gaming environment.  Training verification cards for employees who successfully complete the program and examination are courtroom proof of a propertys commitment to responsible alcohol service.

The gaming industry continues to grow, with more people in the United States visiting gaming establishments than major league ballparks.  Annual revenue from legalized gambling now exceeds the combined revenue for movies, books, recorded music, and park and arcade attractions.

These gaming-specific products from EI will help gaming establishments meet the challenges brought about by this tremendous growth.

For more information on EIs gaming industry products, call 1-800-752-4567, or fax 517-372-4104.

Established in 1952 as a nonprofit educational foundation of AH&MA, the Educational Institute is the worlds largest hospitality communication resource center, providing quality training and educational materials for the hospitality industry.
