The D Las Vegas Teams Up with Lexington by Vantage
in Effort to Reach Untapped Markets

By Ed Komenda, Las Vegas SunMcClatchy-Tribune Regional News

May 02, 2013--The D Las Vegas has teamed up with a new hotel chain.

The downtown casino on Thursday announced a partnership with Lexington by Vantage, a Florida-based hotel company.

Lexington will take over 636 recently remodeled rooms at the D. The Fremont Street haunt -- formerly known as Fitzgerald's -- recently got a major facelift after Las Vegas natives Derek and Greg Stevens bought the property and reopened it as the D in October 2012.

The partnership allows the D to keep its name and independence. But the D will now have access to the resources of Vantage Hospitality, Lexington's parent company, which owns more than 1,000 hotels worldwide.

"The D's strategic agreement with Lexington Legacy extends each brand's reach into markets where they currently do not have a presence," the D's corporate operations officer, Dave Tuttle, said in a statement. "The partnership allows Lexington customers to enjoy the D's unique offerings in Las Vegas while exposing the casino hotel to an entirely new audience."

The agreement marks the second such partnership between an independent casino-hotel and a major hotel collection.

The Las Vegas Hotel in February signed a licensing agreement Red Lion Hotels Corp., giving the popular haunt on Paradise Road access to the company's reservation database and customer loyalty program, which stretches through 48 hotels in nine states and Canada.
