HSMAI Revenue Optimization Conference Marks 10 Years

The Tenth Annual ROC Event, Co-Located with HITEC, will
Focus on Leading Revenue Management into the Future


MCLEAN, Va. (April 2, 2013)
– The Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI), the leader in advocacy and education for hospitality revenue growth, will host its 10th annual program focused on revenue management in Minneapolis June 24 at the Hyatt Regency.

The HSMAI Revenue Optimization Conference (ROC) is a one-day interactive program that discusses current trends and best practices for companies in regard to revenue management including challenges, solutions and strategies to guide revenue optimization professionals. Attendees will be able to learn from and network with industry thought leaders from InterContinental Hotels Group, Omni Hotels and more. The conference this year will focus on “Leading Revenue Management into the Future” and is co-located HITEC, the world’s largest hospitality technology show.

“With the ongoing challenges faced by revenue management leaders, it’s paramount that HSMAI, as an industry leader, carry the charge of helping revenue management professionals as they transcend into the future,” said Robert A. Gilbert, CHME, CHBA, president and CEO of HSMAI. “Professionals today are set in a fast-pace environment where it’s imperative to be able to implement new, effective strategies that can improve the way they operate business. As we now have 10 years of experience with ROC, we strive to continue to drive excellence and ensure attendees leave knowing they received a good return on investment for attending.”

With this year’s focus on the future of revenue management in mind, HSMAI has tracks on Strategy, Best Practices and Innovation, with topics such as how to execute a revenue management vision, the digital perspective for revenue management and innovative pricing in today’s world, among many others.

“Revenue management has proven successful at driving incremental revenues in hotels through the years,” said Jon Eliot, CRME, CHA, vice president of revenue management, Premier Hospitality Management, and co-chair of the HSMAI Revenue Management Advisory Board. “With the 10th anniversary program, we will take a look at how we got to where we are today and help give leaders the tools they need to continue to evolve the discipline.”

Additionally, HSMAI and Rainmaker will co-present the HSMAI Americas Revenue Management Professional of the Year Award at the 2013 ROC. This award recognizes and promotes excellence in the field of revenue management in the hospitality industry. Nominations for the award come from HSMAI chapters and the industry at large, and nominees represent the very best in revenue management. Nominations remain open until April 12 and can be found on the HSMAI website.
