NEW YORK, April 16, 2013 -- Conde Nast Traveler's 17th annual May Hot List issue is the ultimate insider's guide to the hottest new hotels and spas of the year. This year, editors traveled anonymously to 57 countries to visit 201 new hotels, evaluating each on a standard set of criteria including service, food, atmosphere, and amenities. Their mission? To discover the best new places in the world. The 2013 Hot List is the largest ever, with a record number of 154 new hotels and resorts—including 62 hotels for under $300 a night—and 35 of the world's most blissful new spas. The Hot List hotels range in size, price, and style, from the trendy Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn, the epicenter of Brooklyn's trendy artisanal food movement, to the remote, luxurious Mashpi Lodge in Ecuador, which looks out over a lush 42,000-acre private reserve high above the Andean rain forest. In the May Hot List Issue, Conde Nast Traveler recognizes industry tastemakers and trend-spotters from within the Hot List Class of 2013. The Predictors are:
U.S. Properties on the 2013 Hot List: Heywood Hotel,
Austin U.S. Hot Spas 2013: Thai Thai,
