 Tom Robertson Named General Manager for the
Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and
Convention Center

Schaumburg, IL (July 22, 2005) � Renaissance Hotels announced today that Tom Robertson will serve as General Manager for the highly-anticipated Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center in Schaumburg, Illinois when it opens in mid-2006. 

Tom brings with him extensive hospitality and convention experience, working with Marriott Intl. since 1973.   He continued working for Marriott while earning an Engineering degree from the University of Missouri.  After graduation, he progressed through the ranks and got his first Executive Committee assignment in 1988 as Director of Food and Beverage at the South Bend Marriott Hotel in South Bend, Indiana.  In 1990, Robertson moved on to hold positions as Director of Food and Beverage, Resident Manager, and Director of Operations at the Westchester Marriott Hotel in New York.  From there, Tom embarked a convention center project when he became Director of Food and Beverage for the Philadelphia Marriott Convention Center Hotel in 1998.

Robertson accepted the General Manager position at the Springfield Marriott Hotel in Springfield, Massachusetts in late 1999 and led the hotel to record sales and profit figures for two consecutive years.  He began working with the Renaissance Hotels brand in March 2002 when he assumed the position of General Manager at the Renaissance Chicago O�Hare Suites, a title he held until his most recent position at the 518-room Renaissance Dallas Hotel in 2003.

Currently under construction, the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center is slated to open next July.  Designed by John Portman & Associates, the four-star hotel is part of a mixed-use project incorporating a convention center with 100,000 sq. ft. of uninterrupted exhibition space and a hotel with a 28,000 sq. ft. ballroom and 20,000 sq. ft. of additional  meeting space.

 The Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel will feature 500 spacious guest rooms, including 261 doubles, 212 kings and 27 suites. All accommodations feature state of the art technology and appointments which compliment the Hotel�s spectacular design.
