TORONTO, ON�July 26, 2005�Marriott International is pleased to announce
the appointment of Ronald T. Harrison as president of Marriott Lodging
Canada and senior vice president of Marriott International.
In his new role, Mr. Harrison is responsible for lodging operations for all Marriot hotels and resorts in Canada. With 45 hotels in Canada, generating $400 million in revenue per year, Mr. Harrison projects the brand will grow to more than 70 properties over the next several years. Mr. Harrison has been with Marriott International for over 23 years working in sales, marketing and operations positions at resorts and convention hotels across the United States, which led to the position of resident manager at the Anaheim Marriott. Subsequently, Mr. Harrison was assigned the position of general manager of the Irvine Marriott and, as a result of his record of success, was then transferred overseas to take over as the general manager of the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong. Most recently, Mr. Harrison operated as the key leader in the Renaissance brand in the position of market vice president-east, maintaining responsibility for over 30 full-service hotels and resorts. Mr. Harrison has also worked at Marriott corporate head office in Washington, D.C. as the vice president in the Financial Planning & Analysis division. As vice president of worldwide reservations, Mr. Harrison was instrumental in bringing the first Marriott Area Reservations Sales Office to Canada in Fredericton, NB. �Marriott is known in the industry as a hospitality leader and most often preferred by customers on a world-wide scale. Mr. Harrison earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bringham Young University and a Masters in Business Administration, with an emphasis on finance, from the University of Washington.
