HONG KONG, 18 July 2005 -- The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, the most beautiful, luxurious and contemporary hotel in Hong Kong has officially announced that it will open at the end of August 2005.

The hotel, located in Hong Kong�s premier shopping and commercial district, will offer 113 of the largest guestrooms and suites in Hong Kong, designed by Peter Remedios, with an average size of over 540 square  feet . Every aspect has been carefully planned for pure sensory indulgence, from the avant garde objets d�art and the stunning glass-walled bathrooms to the 400 thread-count linen. The latest in-room guest entertainment includes widescreen plasma televisions in every room, and communication technology delivered via broadband Internet networks.

�During the last few weeks, the anticipation and excitement has continued to build as we prepare to open our doors to guests next month,� Susanne Hatje, General Manager said, adding that the hotel will �establish a new benchmark for luxury, elegance and dedicated service, combined with state-of-the-art technology and the latest in contemporary design." 

Eminent interior designer Adam Tihany is responsible for the innovative public areas and interiors, the restaurant, Amber and the ultra-hip MO Bar. Executive chef, Richard Ekkebus will bring a new level of sophisticated dining to Hong Kong. 

Hotel guests seeking rejuvenation and luxurious pampering can head to The Oriental Spa at The Landmark, which occupies 21,000 square feet over two floors of the hotel, and features  calming and relaxing materials such as bamboo, natural stone and gold leaf.  An oasis of tranquility, this state-of-the-art facility is set to become the premier urban spa in Asia, delivering signature treatments created exclusively for Mandarin Oriental.
