Pofahl to Director of F&B at LaPlaya Beach

the appointments of David Phillips to director of rooms and Bruce Pofahl
to director of food and beverage at LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort in
Before joining LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort, Phillips held the position of assistant rooms division director at The Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. Prior to that, he served as guest services director at Kiawah Island Resorts on Kiawah Island in South Carolina. Phillips began his career with Starwood Hotels & Resorts where he held various positions at both the St. Regis in Aspen, Colorado and the Phoenician in Scottsdale, Arizona. He has a B.S. in Hotel Administration from East Stroudsburg University. Phillips will be responsible for all operation aspects of the rooms division for the resort. This will include overseeing various areas of the property as they relate to financials, guest service and staff development.
Pofahl comes to LaPlaya from The Lodge at Pebble Beach in Pebble Beach, California where he served as director of food and beverage. Additionally, he held the position of resort manager at the Quail Lodge Resort in Carmel, California and food and beverage director at the Doubletree Hayden Island Complex in Portland, Oregon. Pofahl has a B.A. in (??) from Carleton College. Pofahl will be responsible for the entire food and beverage operation including profit and service levels of the resort along with management of the various departments.
