The Georgian Hotel, Santa Monica, California |
Huntington Beach, California -- Larry Broughton,
president of Broughton Hospitality Group (BHG) headquartered here, has
announced that effective November 15, 2004, his firm began providing daily
operational and marketing services to The Georgian Hotel, 1415 Ocean Avenue,
Santa Monica, California.
Located opposite the glittering Pacific Ocean, and steps to the historic Santa Monica Pier and trendy Third Street Promenade retail/restaurant district, the hotel offers 84 guest rooms including 28 suites, most with ocean views. First opened in 1933, the landmark Art Deco styled Georgian was most recently renovated in 2001. Additional property upgrades are planned for the first quarter of 2005 including guest baths and a restored elevator, according to Broughton. The distinctive 8-story turquoise and gold Georgian Hotel is recognized as a historic landmark by the city of Santa Monica and a member of Historic Hotels of America. Its wide ocean-view verandah is still conducive to conversation, sunset watching, martinis and cigars. Breakfast is served daily in "The Speakeasy"--a fabled room that has played host to mobster Bugsy Siegel and Hollywood legends Clark Gable and Carol Lombard. Vintage attributes are accompanied by modern amenities including complimentary wireless Internet access in all guest rooms and public areas. Additional 21st century features include a lobby bar and 24-hour room service as well as valet parking. Meeting facilities feature a dedicated boardroom plus two conference rooms accommodating five to 40. Broughton Hospitality Group is an innovative hospitality management company that combines an upbeat operating style and creative spirit with results-oriented business practices for independent lodging properties. BHG properties include the Inn of the Spanish Garden of Santa Barbara, CA (www.SpanishGardenInn.com); the Wine Valley Inn & Cottages in Santa Ynez Valley, CA (www.WineValleyInn.com); Hotel Mojave in Palm Desert, CA (www.HotelMojave.com); Hotel Huntington Beach in Huntington Beach, CA (www.HotelHB.com); Casa Iguana Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (www.CasaIguanaHotel.com); and Tallman Hotel (www.TallmanHotel.com) in Lake County, CA scheduled to open in Fall 2005. |
