Joleen Flory-Lundgren Elected President The
Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers

August 20, 2004, Westfield, NJ � The Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART) announced the election of its new Executive Committee at its 68th semi-annual hospitality training conference, held August 1-4, 2004 at the Gaylord Texan, Dallas, Texas.

The new Executive Committee will be headed up by Joleen Flory-Lundgren, SPHR, FMP, president of CHART. Lundgren is currently vice president of human resources and training for Famous Dave�s of America and has over 18 years of experience in the restaurant industry. She was most recently Senior Director of Training and Development for Buffalo Wild Wings, Inc. She has served CHART in a variety of capacities including Vice President of Membership, Co-Director of Activities, Conference Director and Mentor Director. She has represented CHART as a speaker at various industry organizations including the National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show and the International Foodservice Manufacturers Association Chain Operators Exchange and is active in industry organizations like the Women�s Foodservice Forum and the Society of Human Resources Professionals.

Other CHART Executive Committee members for the coming year inclue:
Mike Hampton, Ed.D. president-elect. Hampton is currently president and chief executive officer of HSA International and is an expert in the design, development and delivery of effective on-line training programs and virtual learning centers. Most recently, he was the coordinator of distance learning programs for the School of Hospitality Management at Florida International University.

Kate Shehan, vice president of membership. Shehan is currently vice president of human resources for Crown Golf Properties and was previously the director of training for Chart House Restaurants.

Josh Davies, vice president of education. Incumbent in this position, Davies is the director of training and development for Sage Hospitality and was most recently director of performance excellence for Magnolia Hotels. 

Curt Archambault, treasurer. For the last 23 years, Archambault has been with Jack In The Box, and currently holds the position of regional training and development manager after moving up through the ranks in operations. 

Carrie Goff, secretary. Incumbent in this position, Goff is director of training for Texas Wings, the Texas-based franchisee for Hooters. She comes to CHART as a 15-year veteran in the foodservice industry.

Tara Davey, executive director. As president of Eastwood Association Management, Davey has served in this position for over five years. Before joining CHART, she was a trusts and estates attorney working with several non-profit foundations. She also spent three years as the assistant director of the Dahesh Museum in New York, NY.

This new Executive Committee will set direction for CHART and carry out key strategies for CHART including establishing strategic partnerships, developing a leadership infrastructure and managing membership growth. The committee also oversees CHART�s semi-annual hospitality training conferences.

CHART is one of the oldest and largest nonprofit organizations dedicated to training in the hospitality industry. Members number over 400 and represent multi-unit restaurant and hotel companies.
