InterContinental Hotels Group Opened 23 Hotels in March and April 2004

ATLANTA, June 3, 2004 - InterContinental Hotels Group (LON: IHG), (NYSE:
IHG) (ADRs), the world's largest and most global hotel company, today announced
it opened 23 hotels in March and April 2004, an addition of more than 2,809
rooms across the Americas.
Another notable addition to IHG portfolio
during this time period is the announcement of a seventh brand -- Hotel
Indigo(TM). Hotel Indigo is a new lodging alternative for the traveler
seeking a hotel experience, not just a hotel room. An industry first, Hotel
Indigo is a lifestyle brand that delivers a refreshing, inclusive hotel
experience in response to prevailing consumer trends. The first Hotel Indigo
is scheduled to open in Atlanta, Ga., by the end of 2004 and will have
approximately 140 rooms.

These 23 openings include:
Crowne Plaza opening its first property located in Virginia Beach, Va.,
with 149 rooms. This property just completed a $3.5 million renovation.
Three Holiday Inn hotels opening in London, Ontario, Canada, with 120
rooms; Chandler, Ariz., with 106 rooms and a 780 room property in Sao Paulo,
Brazil. The Holiday Inn Sao Paulo is IHG's largest property in Latin America,
and the fifth largest Holiday Inn hotel in the world.

One of the newest IHG brands Candlewood Suites, a mid priced extended-stay
brand, opened two properties -- one located in Anaheim, Calif., with 152
rooms and the other located in St. Robert, Mo., with 100 rooms.
