of Sales & Marketing for Outrigger's Marriott and Waikiki Beachfront Properties |
.
| HONOLULU, OAHU, HAWAII - January 12, 2004 - Outrigger Hotels &
Resorts has announced that two of its most experienced sales and marketing
executives have taken on new responsibilities in the New Year.
As of January 1, 2004, Peter Thoene is the new director of sales & marketing for the Waikoloa Beach Marriott and Wailea Marriott, both Outrigger-owned and managed resorts, and is responsible for the combined sales forces of these two deluxe beachfront resorts. Roy Cordeiro has been named the new director of sales and marketing for the Outrigger Waikiki and the Outrigger Reef hotels, both located on the beach in Waikiki. Peter Thoene, who has been director of sales & marketing for the past four years at the Big Island's Waikoloa Beach Marriott (formerly known as the Outrigger Waikoloa Beach), has relocated to Maui. He is now responsible for directing all sales efforts for Outrigger's two Marriott-branded properties, as well as coordinating property sales with Marriott's worldwide sales organization and with Outrigger Hotels & Resorts' sales team. Roy Cordeiro has moved to Oahu to take on the new role of director of sales and marketing at Outrigger's two Waikiki beachfront hotels. Cordeiro transfers from his most recent position as director of sales & marketing at the Wailea Marriott on Maui (formerly the Outrigger Wailea Resort) and is now based at the Outrigger Waikiki. He will initially focus his efforts on the launch plan for the newly renovated Outrigger Waikiki, and in 2005 begin similar plans for the Outrigger Reef, which is scheduled for a major renovation at that time. According to COO Perry Sorenson, these moves will enable Outrigger to combine its two separate sales forces at the Outrigger owned and managed Marriotts into one cohesive unit and at the same time strengthen its sales force at the Waikiki Beachfront Outriggers. "We're fortunate to have two experienced sales and marketing executives who can quickly step into these new roles," said Perry Sorenson. "The reassignment of Peter and Roy strengthen the overall sales effort for these key properties in our Hawaii portfolios." Outrigger Hotels & Resorts is a division of Honolulu-based Outrigger Enterprises, Inc., the largest lodging company in Hawaii and one of the fastest growing lodging companies in the Pacific. Under various management contracts and its two hotel brands - Outrigger Hotels & Resorts and OHANA Hotels & Resorts - the company currently operates or has under development 50 hotels and resorts throughout the Pacific region, representing more than 12,000 hotel rooms and condominium units in Hawaii, Australia, Micronesia, Fiji and New Zealand. Through a franchise agreement with Marriott International, Outrigger Enterprises owns and operates the Waikoloa Beach Marriott and the Wailea Marriott Resort under the Marriott brand. Through a strategic alliance with Fairfield Resorts, the world's largest time-share company, Outrigger Enterprises manages three vacation ownership properties on Hawaii's Big Island.
