Expotel Hospitality Services, L.L.C., a hotel management company with 12
hotels (9 owned and managed, 3 managed) in seven states, has named Mark
J. Kucera, CHA as Executive Vice President of Operations.
Mr. Kucera comes to Expotel with 22 years of hospitality industry experience, including corporate and property level expertise in full service, extended stay, limited service and independent hotel management, corporate branding, expansion and training, capital planning, market development and information technology selection and implementation. Mr. Kucera began his hospitality career with one of the Top Twenty caterers in the country. In 1987 he joined the Holiday Inn, North Randall, OH as Director of F&B, then advanced to Assistant General Manager of the French Quarter Suites Hotel in Memphis, a AAA Four Diamond hotel. He joined Flagstone Hospitality Management LLC (formerly RFS, Inc.) in field management in 1990 and for the next nine years served as General Manager for Holiday Inns in Shawnee, OK; Columbia, SC; Granada, MS; and Flint MI, among others. In 1997, he was named Area Operations Manager for Flagstone while retaining his GM responsibilities for the Flint property. During this time, the Holiday Inn Flint ranked among the top 5 percent of all Holiday Inns nationwide, was �Hotel of the Year� in 1997 and again in 1998 for the America�s Division, Torchbearer award in 1998 and received the annual Holiday Inn Quality Excellence Award four times. In January 2000 Mr. Kucera became Regional Director of Operations - Midwest Region for Flagstone, responsible for the direction of Operations, Guest Satisfaction, Financial and Sales & Marketing aspects of 14 hotels. A member of the Flagstone Executive Management Committee, he was also the corporate representative for all InterContinental Hotel Group properties operated by Flagstone, and a member of the IAHI Central Regional Committee.
