Hans Mulders Appointed General Manager of the
254-room Ocean Place Resort & Spa

LONG BRANCH, NJ . .January 12, 2004 . . . Hans Mulders has been appointed General Manager of the 254-room Ocean Place Resort & Spa according to Greg Champion, president and chief operating officer of Tiburon Hospitality Management.

Mulders brings more than 20 years of hospitality and culinary experience to his position at Ocean Place and will be responsible for leading a staff of 265 associates and overseeing the resort�s marketing, sales and operations efforts, including its newly renovated spa.

�Hans� experience, passion and knowledge of the luxury resort industry, combined with his extensive background in hospitality consulting and training, made him the ideal candidate to lead Ocean Place Resort & Spa to future successes,� said Champion.

Prior to joining Ocean Place Resort & Spa, Mulders served with Noble House Hotels & Resorts for 8 years. He began his tenure with NHH&R at the acclaimed Adolphus Hotel in Dallas, TX., as director of catering in 1993 and was promoted to director of sales and marketing in 1994.  Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to managing director of NHH&R�s Grove Isle Club & Resort in Miami, FL.  He then returned to The Adolphus as director of sales and marketing in 2000.  

Mulders was also president of Mulders & Associates, a sales, operations and training company from 1998 � 2000.  His client list included Cisco Systems, Pegasus Solutions, Inc., Fast Company Magazine and RSR Corporation. He has an extensive background in hospitality food and beverage and has held numerous upper management positions with Westin, Omni and Sheraton hotels including director of food and beverage, director of catering, banquet manager, and restaurant manager.

He has an associates degree in civil engineering from the Dutch School of Civil Engineering; a bachelor of science degree in economics and culinary from the Dutch School of Hotel Administration; and attended Cornell University�s Summer Professional Development Program.  Mulders is a native of Groningen, Holland, and has a wife and five year-old daughter.

In addition to the 254-room Ocean Place Resort & Spa, Tiburon Hospitality Management also manages the 360-room Carefree Resort & Villas in Carefree, AZ., and the 190-room Daufuskie Island Resort & Breathe Spa off the coast of Hilton Head, SC.
