Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels Ltd. Putting the Park Plaza Brand on New Resort in Mijas on the Costa del Sol

.

LONDON (February 2004) Park Plaza Hotels Europe has announced that it has reached agreement with Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels Ltd., the fastest growing vacation ownership company in Europe, to put the Park Plaza brand on Club La Costa's new resort hotel which is due to open in autumn 2006.  It will be the first Park Plaza location in Spain.

The new-build resort will be located in Mijas on the Costa del Sol, east of Marbella and west of Fuengirola and Benalmadena.  The 4-star deluxe hotel will include a large, first-class shopping and entertainment centre complete with theatre facilities, food courts, health and beauty facilities and a luxury spa.

"We are pleased to have teamed up with Park Plaza Hotels Europe for this exciting new development and I am confident that Park Plaza will attract both a business incentive and leisure clientele to this first-class resort," said Roy Peires, Chairman of Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels.

Boris Ivesha, President of Park Plaza Hotels Europe comments, "With budget airlines flying in and out of the south of Spain with increasing frequency, the Costa del Sol has never been more accessible to individual travellers.  I am thrilled to have teamed up with Club La Costa, one of Europe's largest resort developers and managers, to become part of this exciting luxury development.  I have every confidence that the Park Plaza brand will be a welcome addition to the ever popular Costa del Sol and anticipate a successful partnership."

This multi-purpose resort will be located on a hillside providing striking views of the Mediterranean.  The beach is directly accessible from the hotel and all rooms will have either a balcony or terrace from which to view the sunset.

Each of the hotel's 182 rooms (including suites, studios and self-catering apartments) is based on a contemporary Andalusian design theme, with clean lines and colours.  Local materials are being used and subtle lights and lush greens will complete the sumptuous experience.

The hotel will include indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, health and beauty facilities and a luxury spa, as well as a 9-hole golf course and various water sport activities.

Park Plaza Hotels Europe is the master franchisor of Carlson Hospitality Worldwide for the four-star Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts brand in 55 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.  The company operates from regional offices in London, Amsterdam and Frankfurt and at the beginning of 2004, had 23 hotels open and under development in seven countries under the Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts and art'otel brands.
