landmark in the city, and a benchmark in Ukraine" "Its location and its architecture are exceptional, clearly establishing it as the countrys most luxurious hotel."

The Donbass Palace is considered to be part of the architectural heritage of the Donbass region and was originally built in 1938. The architects N. Rechanik and A. Shuvalova designed the original building whilst N. Porhunov revised the proposed project and added the final details. During World War Two the hotel was partly destroyed and was reconstructed between the period 1947-1949. However, due lack of funds, the original architectural grandeur was not maintained.

In 1971 the Institute of Donbass Civil Engineering projects carried out some restoration works and during the period 1996 to 1999 the restaurant was closed and a few of the hotel rooms were rented out as offices to local businesses.

62 years later the management of the Football Club "Shakhtyor" recommended the demolition of the existing building and the reconstruction of the entire hotel to its original features, including the previously eliminated cupola, restoring to Donetsk its cultural heritage and providing the city with its first five star hotel.

Technologically, the property is equipped with the latest facilities required by both the business and leisure guest and will offer data-ports in all rooms, voice mail, direct international lines, and internet access, digital safes, deck phones and permanent charging points for mobile phones located in areas that are easily accessible. Whilst bathrooms are equipped with floor heating and speaker systems connected to the TV.

The Donbass Palace will also be featuring an Executive Club Floor with full butler service, one Presidential Suite, one Royal Suite located in the building's Cupola, 2 Suites, 20 Junior Suites and 105 rooms. Disabled and non smoking rooms are also available.

The Donbass Palace is perfectly designed to handle any event amongst its facilities is a conference room of 155 m2 with the necessary audio visual equipment and a boardroom for 12 persons. Both meeting rooms are within easy access of the business centre offering multi-lingual staff, secretarial services, translations, copy and fax machines.

As to dining, the hotel will offer a varied selection of dining opportunities a Brasserie serving traditional French brasserie food, an elegant restaurant serving international gastronomic cuisine and an Asian restaurant serving multi ethnic cuisine. The hotel also has a Lobby Bar serving traditional afternoon tea and a Lounge Bar specialising in Cognacs and Cigars
